Cinnamon Cardamom Snickerdoodles
After deciding that Cardamom needs to be the spice of the fall, I started collecting recipes that included it as a main ingredient. The first recipe was from a Sweet Spoonful and I only adapted it slightly.

Ingredients & Directions:
- 2 2/3 C Flour
- 2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 2 sticks Butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray two baking sheets cooking spray. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Beat the butter and sugar in a mixer at high speed until the mixture is light & fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla. Reduce the speed to low. Add the flour mixture in two parts, beat the dough until it’s smooth.

For Spiced Sugar:
- 1 1/2 tsp. Ground Cardamom
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
Combine the cardamom, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll the dough into small balls.

A few at a time, toss the balls in the spiced sugar to coat, and place evenly apart on the cookie sheets.

Bake 8-10 minutes, until edges are golden. Rotate the cookie sheet halfway through baking. Cool on a wire rack.
