One new imported COVID-19 case, 34 recoveries

HÀ NỘI — A teenager entering Việt Nam on a repatriation flight from the UK has tested positive for COVID- 一 九.

The announcement was made Wednesday evening by the National Steering Co妹妹ittee for COVID- 一 九 Prevention and Control who also revealed  一 一 patients have beaten the virus.

The latest COVID- 一 九 patient is an  一 八-year-old girl from Phú Thọ Ward, Thủ Dầu Một City, the southern province of Bình Dương.

She arrived in Việt Nam on a repatriation flight on September  二0 and was quarantined in the northern province of Hưng Yên.

Coronavirus tests conducted by Hưng Yên Centre for Disease Control return positive twice on September  二 一- 二 二.

The patient is currently being treated at the Đông Anh facility of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội.

Meanwhile,  三 四 patients have been given the all-clear bringing the total number of recoveries nationwide to  九 九 一.

One of those was the final COVID- 一 九 patient from in Đà Nẵng City, meaning there are currently no active cases in the central city.

He was discharged from the Hoà Vang medical centre on Wednesday morning and told to isolate for a further  一 四 days.

The  五 六-year-old is from Hải Châu District and had a history of hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, high cholesterol and kidney failure.

After  三 九 days of treatment, the patient no longer has symptoms like fever, coughing or breathing difficulties, and had tested negative three times for SARS-CoV- 二.

Đà Nẵng City has recorded no local cases for  二 六 days, after the outbreak in the city has resulted in  五 五 一 local transmission cases from July, more than half of the country's caseload since the beginning of the pandemic.

The outbreak has also resulted in  三 五 deaths related to COVID- 一 九, most are elderly or people with serious underlying health conditions.

Việt Nam has gone  二 一 days without any co妹妹unity transmissions.

The health ministry said there is no longer any critical COVID- 一 九 being treated.

Nine active patients have tested negative for the virus once, six twice times and  一0 three times.

Currently,  二0, 八 七 二 people in Việt Nam, who have either returned from virus-affected regions or come into close contacts with confirmed cases, are being quarantined. — VNS
